Monsta Boy is a UK garage duo consisting of David Edwards and Steve Heyliger.

The challenge01

Monsta Boy had their 20th anniversary for their chart-topping tune “I’m Sorry!” and were not sure on how to use their social media platforms to promote this huge anniversary, whilst also promoting their new duplates on their website to commemorate the occasion.

The strategy02

Due to our extensive experience in the entertainment industry, Monsta Boy engaged with Monumental to help them overcome this challenge.

We designed a solid story and personality to MonstaBoy’s Instagram feed to lay the foundations of creating an engaging and value-driven visual aesthetic to cater towards their niche target audience of independent artists, producers and sound engineers.

As part of our strategy, we implemented some growth hacking tactics, such as monthly competitions & giveaways of tickets & dubplates which resulted in an increased number of organic followers. By running some low-level paid ads, we were able to encourage over 300 remix submissions of their hit songs and increase their database for their newsletter at the same time which maximised the return on investment via the paid social ads.

Ultimately, through organic and paid social, we were able to promote Monsta Boy’s 20th Anniversary by reaching thousands of existing and new fans whilst also increasing their database of loyal subscribers.
