The GTA Black Women in Tech group is an organisation dedicated to building bridges of opportunities in tech by enabling black female talents to excel.

The challenge01

The BWIT group needed support to launch their debut NFT collection, which showcases 10 black women and their roles within the tech industry.

n an over-saturated arena surrounding NFTs, the challenge was to create a buzz and increase awareness around the drop to share the deeper meaning behind the collection.

The strategy02

Nowadays, NFTs are created simply because they are popular. But the BWIT collection is different.

Monumental’s strategy was to focus on the background stories behind the 10 black women who featured in the digital collectibles. To increase awareness and maximise engagement with the target audience, we created a narrative to humanise the digital artwork that would inspire and encourage people to get involved with the initiative.

Story-telling and evoking emotion was the key to this campaign – through these tactics, we were able to tap into the human aspect of this project instead of solely focusing on the digital aspect. Ultimately, we could ensure that the project reached the target audience to garner authentic interaction, which led to the campaign generating interest from the media and collectors once the drop happened.
