The challenge01

Monumental was engaged by BT and 5G Edge-XR to: display the power of 5G networks to provide immersive experiences in combination with cloud graphics processing units. In addition, to showcase the opportunities 5G networks with GPUs can create for UK and global businesses and exhibit the capabilities of 5G Networks to deliver both Virtual and Augmented Reality to users.

The strategy02

Our 18-month strategy focused on leveraging the technology to a wide range of audiences. This was achieved through championing its use cases in each sector and developing a narrative that would appeal to professional and consumer audiences.

We realised as part of our strategy that the technology would need to be humanised to tell a more engaging narrative. One approach to achieve this was to promote the individual expertise across the different tech companies that came together to make this possible. This created an opportunity to build engaging narratives for the reader and allowed us to build a multichannel approach to PR.

Augmented and Virtual Reality technologies are seen as cool and exciting developments but for many they feel mysterious or fad-like. Our strategy allowed us to break these barriers to truly showcase the “why” behind the tech and its impacts in everyday life, from healthcare to education to entertainment and sports.
