CHALLENGE
An all-new, female-led theatre production called HoneyPot took the stage at Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2019. With their multicultural cast of talented women, HoneyPot has reinvented traditional fairy tales into tales of modern heroines. HoneyPot is an all-female play portraying an uncensored and comical take on famous fairy tales. This showcase of collective female power brings fairy tales onto the main stage through the perspective of the modern woman.
Strategy
Monumental was thrilled to work with Honeypot to help promote their show! We worked with Honeypot on a short-term basis, providing digital PR before, during and after they performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2019. We got in touch with our BAME and LGBTQ+ press contacts to generate targeted buzz surrounding the launch of their play at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Honeypot gained a variety of coverage and features spanning from LGBTQ+ press to Business Press – Gaining local coverage and a 5 star review in ScotsGay Magazine, to being featured in Gal-dem Magazine’s Editor’s Picks, which is one of the biggest online publication that shares perspectives from women and non-binary women of colour. Honeypot’s director and writer was also featured in Key Women in Business.
