Anyone who has ever used Instagram would have at some point asked themselves the raging question: “what the heck do I write for my Bio? I wish I had some Instagram tips”. Wondering how best to describe yourself can be difficult – there is a lot about your business that cannot be summarised with just a few words. Do you write something generic? Do you try to stand out from the crowd with something funny or a quote? Luckily for you, you have come to the right place…

As a digital marketing agency in London we know what’s hot and what’s not when it comes to writing the perfect Instagram Bio. We have compiled 4 of our best Instagram tips to help you write yours so you can rest assured that your profile will pop in all the right ways.

But first, what is an Instagram Bio? Well it is a simple short summary of your page and is the first place visitors will go for more information about your business. Therefore a good Bio is a very important tool in attracting the right audience, making the best first impression and converting those visitors into followers!

Here are our Instagram tips for writing a perfect Instagram bio:

1. Use Top Targeted Keywords

This first Instagram tip is essential and will make your Instagram profile easier to discover! Instagram will be rolling out a new keyword search feature on its platform so this will work hand-in-hand with putting your profile at the top of a search list.

2. Tag Your Other Accounts

If your brand has another account or many other accounts then it is a good idea to tag them in your Instagram Bio. This will make it easier for visitors to navigate through to your other pages and engage with more of your content

3. Use Hashtags!

While using hashtags in your Instagram Bio does not directly improve searchability within those hashtags, using branded hashtags does however put a spotlight on your posts. Audiences’ will associate it with your profile and may participate as well by tagging their own posts with your hashtag!

4. Use Your Brand’s Tone Of Voice

There is a maximum of 150 characters to make your business pitch. That’s essentially what a Bio needs to be, a business pitch, and it is important to stay on-brand with it. Whether you are writing short bullet points or short sentences, sticking to your brand’s tone of voice will maintain synergy between the page and your content.

5. Add A Website Link

This last Instagram tip is a great way to get visitors from your Instagram profile directed to your website. Including a website link will make it easier for followers to find out more about your business. Adding a CTA in your bio to accompany your website link can improve click-through-rates and increase engagement to make your Instagram profile more successful.

75% of customers rely on social media to inform their purchase decisions so it is SO important that your Instagram account reflects the best of your business. A strong Bio is just as important as the content you post.
